Uber Trim is an over-the-counter appetite suppressant sold in a 60-capsule bottle, meant to be taken as one capsule twice daily.

The product is sold by Big Kahuna Studios, headquartered in Miami, Florida, under company president Rahul K. Palta. The company opened a Better Business Bureau profile back in 2015, but there is little information on their profile, and they have a C- grade with no accreditation and a whopping 25 customer complaints reported (this is big for the BBB website—a lot of folks don’t think to report lousy customer service to the Better Business Bureau). There is more on this company, and what the customers thought of the Uber Trim diet pills later on in this review. [1]

Company Contact Information: Big Kahuna Studios, 80 S.W. 8th Street – Suite 2000, Miami, FL 33130. Phone Number: 1-800-213-1183 (TrueCaller.com ID does come up as “UberTrim & Uber Ignite”). E-mail: Support@ubertrim.com

Uber Trim is not available anywhere but on the company’s main website, in which you will be automatically enrolled into an autoship program and charged $89.97 every 30 days for a 30-day supply of the diet pills. (This is called “negative option marketing” [2])

Their Return Policy: “We will credit one returned unopened product per customer if the received package is postmarked within 30 days of the original order date and included with a RMA number obtained from customer service. No returns are credited after 30 days of the original order date. Any merchandise must be returned at the customer’s expense and must have an RMA number marked on it. No returns are credited if they are not accompanied by an RMA number.” [3]

“Transform your body…and your life (we dare you!)” [3]

“In addition the natural (HCA) in Uber Trim is a known appetite suppressant that reduces cravings and decreases the urge to consume calories.” [3]

“Uber Trim is carefully produced under strict guidelines without any fillers, binders or chemical additives of any kind.” [3]

An unnamed “Famous TV Show Doctor” is quoted as saying Garcinia cambogia is “The Holy Grail of Weight Loss.” [3]

What they don’t tell you in the process of all this crowing—they wait until way down in the Terms and Conditions—is Uber Trim “is intended to be used in conjunction with a sensible diet and exercise program to see best results.” So not the magic pill they’re touting it to be. Garcinia cambogia might be a “known” appetite suppressant, but it’s not a definitively proven one.

The Science Behind Uber Trim

Because this is another diet pill with G. cambogia as its main active ingredient there is plenty of science done about why it seems to work as an appetite suppressant for the short term. However, there is little evidence to prove its effectiveness in the long term for weight loss. According to an article published online in the 14 December 2010 Journal of Obesity, “Animal studies have suggested that HCA causes weight loss, and human trials involving the use of HCA as a weight loss supplement have been carried out.” [4]

Another study done on the effectiveness of G. cambogia, published in the 2012 Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, it was shown that studies have not been seen past 12 weeks. Therefore the effectiveness of the supplement for long-term is not proven.

Although several studies have found that the administration of G. cambogia extracts is associated with body weight and fat loss in both experimental animals and humans, we should be cautious when interpreting the results as other randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials have not reported the same outcomes. Furthermore, most studies in humans have been conducted on small samples and mainly in the short term. None of them have shown whether these effects persist beyond 12 weeks of intervention. Therefore, there is still little evidence to support the potential effectiveness and long-term benefits of G. Cambogia extracts. [5]

Uber Trim might cite a few studies (if you look way down at the bottom of the sales page), but none of them prove the “serious weight loss” claims at the top of the same page. The research into G. cambogia is still very much in its infancy. Also, the dosage of Uber Trim is really no different than a dozen other G. cambogia supplements on the market. Hardly what I’d call a “Holy Grail.”

A quick note from WebMD about side effects:

Garcinia is POSSIBLY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth for 12 weeks or less. Long-term safety is unknown. Garcinia can cause nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking Garcinia if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use. [6]

Word On The Street About Uber Trim

There are no outside reviews on any website other than the Better Business Bureau, in which many different customers complained about the services they received when purchasing Uber Trim. Because this diet pill is not sold outside of Big Kahuna Studio’s main website for Uber Trim, there were limited resources available. There were 25 total customer complaints about the product, many of them being associated with their auto ship program and being charged more times than planned.

One customer stated,

Took money from my bank account without approval. Ordered a trial online and when the order came in there was no information from them about any other charges. There was no emails saying they were going to charge me for another month supply. There was no order forms. There was just a packing slip. [4]

(This is typical of negative-option marketing programs.)

Another said,

“I was billed and money deducted from my account in the beginning of September for a product and I never received it. Then I was just billed again. Never received product but money was taken from my account. A total of 360 dollars and I have not received product. I have cancelled.” [4]

Every supplement affects every individual differently. Gender, age, sometimes race, pre-existing medical conditions, and individual body chemistry—as unique as a fingerprint—can affect how a supplement works on you. That’s why supplements always add that “individual results may vary” disclaimer, and it’s why reviews for a drug or supplement can be all over the spectrum. Only you and your doctor can figure out how it works for you, so always be forthcoming and transparent with your doctor about side effects you experience, as well as if the substance doesn’t seem to be doing anything for you.

The Bottom Line: Is Uber Trim worth a try?

Run Away Now. Walk into Walgreens or any drug or department store, or go to Amazon and search “Garcinia cambogia.” You’ll find plenty of brands to choose from with better reputations and for a whole lot less money.
