Reading Time: 5 minutesIsagenix is an MLM company that sells various dietary supplements and personal care products. In a MLM (sometimes called a pyramid because of the multi-tiered direct selling approach) the compensation is far higher at the top then at the bottom rung. This is especially the case in the very successful ones (sells a lot of products) like Amway, Mary Kay, Avon and those alike. It’s everyday folks that help build that pyramid by way of sales to friends, family, neighbors, and other everyday folks. Nowadays with the advent of social media, direct selling may be perhaps even more popular than before. No knocking on doors or Tupperware parties. Post product specials on Facebook, share a blog on Twitter, or images on Instagram, or a video on YouTube. So in part, that may be why the name sounds familiar.

If you are looking for the next great weight loss strategy it’s helpful to know how the product is being sold. MLM business at it’s core relies on people’s good word-of-mouth to persuade other’s to buy into their product. So that becomes the motive for everyone involved. The motive, at the very least, makes me question what I see online about Isagenix. That doesn’t mean Isagenix products aren’t what they’re cracked up to be. But it also doesn’t mean they are all that either. Or perhaps, once you know more about the company and its products, you’ll consider Isagenix alternatives.

Isagenix Support Complaints

Isagenix, like most other companies, does receive customer complaints. Out of all the complaints we’ve gathered, Isagenix support and ethics complaints were the most numerous.

Isagenix customers feel like runaround is the biggest problem with their support.

…I had to pay $28 to return the items. I will not ever purchase these shakes again. They were effective but I won’t eat like that the rest of my life, It’s just not sustainable. … Very poor customer service and follow through all around. I got the general feeling that everyone would say “that’s not my job”…

Isagenix Product Use Side Effect Complaints

Customers report digestion issues as the number one side effect related to Isagenix Product use. Here is what one of the Isagenix own associates said:

…I have been an associate of Isagenix for the past 13 months… I do believe the IsaLean shakes can cause bloating, because that is how I feel. Bloated. Constipated. I can no longer button jeans that fit me fine up until they reached my distended abdomen. This is in the wake of drinking adequate water and exercising…

Isagenix Advertising Complaints

Isagenix being misleading in their advertising is number one customer complaint. When we say Isagenix we also include the associates and their advertising conduct. Here is an example of such complaint posted on Better Business Bureau:

…I know for a fact that the sellers are false advertising. A seller I know admitted to trying their products, couldn’t use them because they were distasteful, and achieved weight loss without using [Isagenix] products, but still claimed that [Isagenix] products themselves made them lose weight to make a sale.

Isagenix product return policy says you are eligible for a refund within the first 30 days from the day of purchase. Only your first order is eligible and you must pay return shipping. I suppose Isagenix says that if you purchased second time, then you must like the product, and as such, you should not have a right to a refund. Not sure if everyone would agree with that. None of the other fees are refund eligible. You must also follow Isagenix return steps, otherwise Isagenix may decline the refund.

What is Isagenix?

Isagenix is a weight loss, performance, health and beauty multi-level marketing company.

How does the Isagenix diet work?

They have a multitude of different individual products and programs, namely their “Paks” and 9 or 30 day systems. Depending on which Pak/System you go with Isagenix program closely manages how much calories users intake based on the daily shakes and snacks provided. As well it adds some intermittent fasting days “cleanse day”.

What is the success rate of being on Isagenix?

It is considered somewhat of a crash diet, lose weight quickly. In the long run, this system is not sustainable, with just eating processed snacks and shakes. Proper portioned whole foods, water intake and exercise will play a huge roll in a higher success rate.

Is Isagenix easy to follow?

Yes, it comes with daily and step by step directions, even some labeled A.M./P.M. But it can be difficult for those who struggle with overeating because the free meal (not provided by Isagenix), needs to be within the proper portion and calorie parameters.

Are there any side effects?

Some reported side effects are: headaches, nervousness, dizziness, shaking and vomiting. Replacing food with shakes and processed snacks is not healthy for anyone for extended periods.

What is their return policy?

You’ll have 30 days from the date of purchase to return a product(s) that you’re trying for the first time. Isagenix may consider accepting returns on a case-by-case, basis and has the right to deny any refund and/or cancel a Position of anyone who abuses their satisfaction guarantee.
